Paint thoroughbred

I remember a few years ago I worked with a horse called White Wonder.  He was totally white, and went pink after his races!  I’ve also see foal photos of brown and white throughbreds but never actually seen one on the racecourse.  This one is a good one too – It’s a cow, it’s a […]

Cop A Tude wins his third race

He won last night at Penn National and he is a horse who prefers the dirt.  He had a couple of tries on the turf but dirt is his game.  Congratulations to High Five Racing Stable.

Animal Kingdom at Dalham Hall

At last, some photos of AK in his new temporary home at Dalham Hall, Newmarket in England.  Everyone says he seems very happy which is wonderful news.  It’s obviously a different life for him but he settled in wonderfully.  He goes into quarantine shortly so he can go to Australia with the others.  Arrowfield Stud […]

Pure Prize

Apologies for using Joy’s sire as the heading but it fits.  Joy, owned and bred by Dark Hollow Farm won her first Stake race.  It was the Christiana Stakes at Delaware.  She was pretty consistent on the dirt but her recent switch to the turf has been her making.  She was capably ridden by Matt […]

Super Sunday

Yesterday Handoverthecat won her first race in her first run at Presque Isle.  Super consistent Sabouli got her second win at Monmouth and Julie’s Love ran a terrific race in the Grade II Dance Smarty Stakes at Woodbine to finish second.  Congratulations to all owners.

July 4th visit

Linda Lightner is quite a regular visitor to the barn to see her favorites and two of her favorites didn’t disappoint yesterday.  She sent me this mini drama…. GALA: Psssssst!  Blackie, I think our visitor brought peppermints.                   BTN: If we both focus our powers of concentration, […]

Occasional View again

Occasional View has been a very consistent performer this year since he joined us at the end of 2012.  He kicked off his year with a third at Keeneland and won his second race at Presque Isle last night.  In his previous race he was just nudged out of a Stake place into fourth.   Congratulations […]

Modelling again!

This is the second advertisement Ballast has been in, both for Bosley-Brangier tailormade riding apparel.  The blue ribbon is one he won too.  He’s becoming quite the pin up!

For The Ages

All the racing at Delaware is off the turf today due to the torrential rain we’ve been having.  For The Ages race was one of the races that was scheduled to run on the turf and the decision was made to run on the dirt anyway.  It was his first run on the dirt and […]

Red Hot Tweet dead heats

She ran a very exciting race at Colonial Downs on Saturday night.  The camera didn’t know who to focus on after the race and everyone was having bets as to who had won.  A dead heat was a good answer!  Congratulations to Buttonwood Stables.
