Sharnberry

A filly who recently arrived from England, Sharnberry wired the field today at Gulfstream over a mile.  She had the benefit of Ramon Dominguez riding her again as he did on her first run over here (she had a slow start which they so often do first time), so he knew her and felt comfortable […]

Lots of good reading

Toby’s back too!

Although Toby’s Corner didn’t win his comeback race after a 10 1/2 month layoff everyone was delighted with his run.  He was in a very tough spot against some speed horses but he held his own with a very fast pace to be beaten only one length.  Lisa, who ran him said he was so […]

M’Dearest

M’Dearest, a Macho Uno filly I’ve never met as she hasn’t made it to Fair Hill yet broke her maiden at Gulfstream today over 1 1/8 miles on the turf.  Congratulations to Team Valor International.{jcomments on}

Under Control

Under Control seemed a little out of control swerving to the inside before the wire but nevertheless he won nicely by 1 1/4 lengths.  The was the second win for the Live Oak Plantation owned Brazilian bred colt by Northern Afleet.  Congratulations to them.{jcomments on}

After the race

I thought this was a nice photo to show Animal Kingdom and Carlos have a relaxing walk after his win.   Photo by Dana Wimpfheimer and there are many more in a folder she has on her website of yesterday’s race – Dana Wimpfheimer Photography{jcomments on}

Nose

photo by Vassar Photography If the photo finish hadn’t gone against us the name of the winner would have been amusing!  He is called Daddy Nose Best and he literally beat Lucky Chappy by a flared nostril in the El Camino Real Derby (Grade III) at Golden Gate yesterday.  Chappy had to work hardest of […]

Animal Kingdom does it!

photo by Coglianese photos I’m sure I’ve said it before but I will say it again.  I don’t know how Graham and other trainers deal with the pressure before a race in which you really really want everything to happen as planned but I get so nervous I almost cry before the race!  AK got […]
