Malibu Dawn

With a promising second first time out at Delaware on the dirt Malibu Dawn made the trip to Canada to run on their dirt.  Very nice!  She controlled the pace most of the way to be hand ridden to the wire by Alan Garcia.  Another nice win for Sam Son Farm who bred her too.

Rugbyman Back On Track

Always a big horse and still growing, Rugbyman has a lot of talent but has not always had the luckiest of runs in his races.  Yesterday put the record straight and showed his talent as not having the best of starts, he got himself into the race, dueled towards the finish and won by two […]

Robin Hood Easily At Presque Isle

A win on turf and now a win on the Tapeta surface Robin Hood won with ease last night.  He lived up to his hot favoritism by laying up close to the lead in the mile and one sixteenth race and pulled away to win by a comfortable three lengths.  Congratulations to Earle Mack who […]

Desert Isle Breaks Maiden In Style

Love the commentators remark – Jose Ortiz releases the brakes!  It was great for her to break her maiden at Woodbine this afternoon as she is owned by home team Sam Son Farms.  They also owned the second filly in the race but Desert Isle won as she liked by four and a half lengths.  […]

Calvi

Everyone loves Calvi!  A gelding, who when he was a colt was stalled beside fillies with a ‘buddy’ window and couldn’t care less!  He’s only had five starts, two seconds and now a win.  He did cheat a little in the fact it was a turf race today taken off the grass and he’s run […]

Icabad’s Back!

Seems he had a lot of visitors today!  Anita went over earlier and took this video (below) of him.  He had just finished jogging with Evie Dutton and she was delighted with him.  Icabad is very lucky to be where he is now as a few months ago he was kicked and broke his tibia.  […]

Be Counted

With over a year lay-off Be Counted ran at Saratoga on the first day of the month and today, on the last day of the month he got himself into gear to win at Monmouth.  The grass was listed as good with the rain they had this morning but he found a nice seam up […]

Aizhai

He had a lot better trip last night at Presque Isle than he had in his first race up there three weeks ago.  Last night he got the lead and stayed there until the finish.  Aizhai is by Mineshaft and is a half brother to Stakes winning Fortune Pearl who won the Delaware Park Oaks […]

Regally Irish

What a talented family!  Regally Irish is the first foal from Irish Score who Graham trained to win over $100,000 and who is a half sister to Irish War Cry.   This was his first race today; it was on the dirt but who knows if this will be his preferred surface as the family trend […]

Holiday Bonus Scores Through Disqualification

Although he’s only won one previous race it’s often been through no fault of his own.  That includes today’s win.  He was leaned on hard twice in the closing stages so he couldn’t keep a straight line and through objection that winner was taken down and Holiday Bonus moved up to take the crown.  Congratulations […]
