Empress Maker

You never know until you try.  Empress Maker had never started in a Stakes race before today and in fact had just won a maiden in twelve starts.  Today she won the George Rosenberger Memorial Stakes at Delaware Park for Regis Racing.  She capped off a terrific day by being our 4th Stakes winner.  Congratulations […]

Interrupted

Today she claimed her second Stake win in the Lady Baltimore Stakes on a rain softened track with all the much needed rain we’ve had in the last couple of days.  By two of Graham’s ex-trainees Broken Vow and Alternate it is an extra special win.  Congratulations to owners and breeders Pin Oak Stud. A […]

Lookout Sister Is A Small Wonder

With only two previous lifetime starts under her belt Lookout Sister won the Small Wonder Stake at Delaware for Mrs. Phyllis Wyeth.  She is by Giant’s Causeway out of a Mt. Livermore (very old, classic breeding)) mare.  Congratulations to Mrs. Wyeth.

Tacticus

The longer the race, the better for this son of A.P. Indy out of a Sadler’s Wells mare.   This was his second Stake win since arriving in the US in June.   His last Stake win was 1-3/4 miles and today was 1-5/8, both on the dirt.  They seem to be writing longer races and he […]

Scholar Athlete and Miss Ella

With the races being taken off the turf today at Belmont it left us with two runners, one at Woodbine and Miss Ella ‘off the turf’ at Belmont.  Scholar Athlete was running his second race at Woodbine as he is Ontario bred.  First time out he got a little tired but the extra distance helped […]

Eighttofasttocatch

As well as keeping an eye on our own retirees it’s lovely to hear of another who Graham and Anita bred from their mare Too Fast To Catch.  Apart from being a top-class racehorse he is now climbing the ladder quite quickly in his new career with trainer Tim Keefe’s wife Rumsey. Eighttofasttocatch Launches Into […]

Tiger Ride Wins Second Stake

With a patient ride by Alex Cintron and an excellent race run by her, Tiger Ride won her second Stake in a row.  It was the Indiana Grand Stakes and surprisingly it was not Graded as it was worth $200,000.   Congratulations again to Dixiana Farms who bred her too.

Kitten’s Point Today

What can I say.  Incredible filly, winner of a third of her races,  won over $500,000 in purse money, Grade 1 and 2 placed, Grade 3 winner, every single race she’s run in (bar three, including her maiden win) has been a Stakes race, TWELVE of them Graded.  What a superstar.  Today she won the […]

Rafting

A shorter distance of seven furlongs, and a switch from turf to dirt, suited this smart son of Tapit.  Although running quite greenly he prevailed in his maiden at the Spa.  Congratulations to owners and breeders Werthemer et Frere. Well-bred Tapit Colt Earns His Diploma At Saratoga We did have a ‘winner’ in the previous […]

Step Aside Boys

She’s a trooper and always runs a really good race.  She has now won on all surfaces, dirt, turf and synthetic and is very, very rarely out of the first three finishers.  Congratulations again to Mrs. Stella Thayer.
