Beatnik went to a love home in Salisbury, Maryland with Mila Tolley.
Beatnik “Nik” is currently enjoying his down time from the racetrack and is looking forward to a career as an all-around horse since he has the personality to physically build to do a little bit of everything. Towards the end of the summer he hopefully will be making his debut in Western Dressage and English Pleasure. He is the most uncomplicated horse to ride I’ve ever had coming off the track. He knows his job and is a total professional. He hacks out bareback in just a halter and is the closest to bombproof that there is. He clearly had wonderful and loving foundation as a racehorse. Nik is a total love bug and everyone that meets him can’t believe that he raced, let alone won a few times!

Mila posts almost daily update on her Facebook page with Nik and here he is wishing everyone a Happy New Year. Looking back at the posts he likes to dress up!
After many treatments for Nik’s physical ailments Mila made the difficult decision that he was in too much pain to ride, but was in no pain at all when he was turned out, being a horse. We got in touch with Mr. George Strawbridge, Jr. and he very kindly let him retire to his farm in Chester County, PA, in the ‘retiree’ field which is about 200 acres and they get to live out all the time. As you can see below, think he found his paradise!
