Heather Gore adopted Creve Coeur in October 2016 from the MA CANTER after MSPCA had taken him over regarding an abuse case. It appeared from his history that this was not the first time he’d been in that situation.
She gave him a wonderful home until the Spring of this year (2017) when she got in touch with us to say that due to various reasons she really had to find him a new home and because of his previous situations she wanted to be absolutely certain it would be the best place for him. For some reason it wasn’t an easy task (not many people want older Warriors) and it took a while but Heather was patient and found him a wonderful position as noted below. Thank you Heather for not only taking a chance on adopting him but making sure he had a safe place to go to once you could no longer keep him. This is what she wrote:
I have excellent news about Duncan!! Through what seems like a miracle I found Duncan a safe home at “Safe Haven Equine Rescue & Retirement.” A woman that volunteers there reached out about taking Duncan as her personal horse. He wasn’t quite what she was looking for, but she did get me in touch with the owner and she agreed to help Duncan. He is flourishing there…. He has all day turnout, has made best friends with a Friesian gelding (picture attached), and is being retrained as a pleasure/trail horse. He has been a perfect angel and seems to genuinely enjoy his new home and job.

Thank you for everything you did to look out for this horse. Your support has been so appreciated, and Herringswell has a permanent “fan” in me. I have been blown away by the follow through you have demonstrated for the horses that raced for you. And I was in the Irish War Cry fan club at all the derby parties this year. J You have some incredible horses, and are incredible people. Thank you.
