Although he never won a Stake he was Grade 3 placed as a three year old and ran very competitively until he was seven. Owned by West Point Thoroughbred’s he was well loved by all the partners and they had a wonderful few years watching him run very competitively for them. He always tried and was very rarely out of the placings. Typical tough grass horse. He was retired at the beginning of 2020 and was re-homed with Melanie Goetz from Michigan.

Melanie sent this photo of Scholar after having his first bath of the year. I think you can agree he looks fat, dappled and happy!
…………..then it snowed!

January 2022
Melanie shared these sweet photos of Scholar snoozing under a heated blanket (in a heated barn) before a recent lesson!

Another lovely upbeat message from Melanie…
I wanted to send you an updated picture of Scholar! He is doing really well with our dressage training. I’m hoping to take him off
property before the show season ends. He is still not too sure about arena traffic but is getting use to it very slowly.
Here’s a pic of him hand grazing yesterday. He is really building muscle, and loving his monthly massage and chiro work!
I’m so glad I ended up with him!

He has now moved to a new barn much nearer to her home so she and her family can spend more time with him. This is him with her niece.
