Slick Evans is now called Teddy Bear and Bear for short! He was a slow racehorse so the owner kindly retired him rather than get claimed and end up who knows where eventually. He immediately bonded with his new owner Ava Whyte and we are so happy for them both. She is eventually going to do some hunter/jumper shows with him.

Update – October 25th, 2023 – he’s settled in well and doing great!
March 2024 – now known as Teddy Bear! – Champion too..
Ava and her Mum Haley adore him and apart from cleaning up at the shows he is a lovable boy and just had a birthday! Very spoiled man!

He’s winning blue ribbons all the time. Video won’t load but this is him being goofy at Tryon before winning another one!!
May 2025 update
Slick (Bear) got to wear a halloween costume last fall and then celebrated his 5th birthday in style in March. He’s had time off for a strained suspensory but is very happy and ready to go back to work.
