“Moonie’ as he was nicknamed was always a sweet, sweet horse and Janie Motion found him to be absolutely adorable with the animals on their farm while he was on lay-up. She asked us to always keep track of him and let her know when he would be retired. The trainer who had him at Parx kindly got in touch a month or so ago and said he was ready for a new career. Janie was full and was disappointed she couldn’t take him but Michelle at the Piedmont Hunt in Middleburg, VA was keen to give him a try. From the photo below he’s really taken the hounds!

March 2021
When he’s not hunting he is an outrider horse at the Point To Point races – he’s good at everything!
July 2022
“Moonie” had a great many years as a good hunt servant to the Piedmont Hunt but he eventually needed a non jumping career. He literally just moved to Martin and Sue Blackmore’s Princess Anne Hunt in VA which is sandy and flat and no jumping, especially as he is now going to be Sue’s whip horse. She sent these photos of his first two days and I would say he’s settled in VERY well!
August 20th, 2022 – enjoying his new life ….
November 2022 – first day out hunting – perfect!
