It’s been a while since Russell Jones took Aegis as a three year old to be his hunter but we haven’t had photos – just good news he’s a good hunter!! His daughter Jennifer now hunts him, along with our other retiree she has of ours, Captain Hardship, with the Cheshire Hunt and others. She said he can be a bit quirky but is a fantastic jumper.

After many years of hunting and being probably the best jumper in the field, he became very difficult and dangerous in the last couple of years. Jennifer and her father Russell went to many lengths to work on him and have training from other people but he became too unpredictable to get on and off and to ride. He was not a good turnout with others as he would beat them up so it was with heavy hearts they made the decision to euthanize him. Maybe it was a brain tumor going on, who knows, but they felt he was not a happy horse and although others said they would take him it was not worth the liability.
Thank you for taking such good care of him all these years and trying your best for him. Russell has a 10 acre paddock so they never leave the property for burial which is nice to. hear.
