West Point Thoroughbreds’ millionaire RING WEEKEND retired from racing in July, 2018 and began training for his second career with Olympic Gold Medalist Phillip Dutton at his True Prospect Farm in West Grove, Pa. For the last few seasons on the racetrack, Dutton was actually part of the gelding’s ownership group.
The chestnut son of Tapit out of the Cryptoclearance mare Free The Magic was the winner of six graded stakes including the Frank E. Kilroe Mile Stakes-G1. He also finished fifth in the 2014 Preakness Stakes-G1 won by California Chrome. Ring Weekend earned stats of 33-8-5-4 and $1,571,576 to his credit.
Julie Lake now has him as a hack and drag hunter in in Maine and he’s doing fabulously!

From the short video I saw, and these photos, Ring Weekend seems to be enjoying his new adventure. It would be outstanding if he were to be competitive in this second career.
Best wishes to Mr. Dutton and Ring for success.
I would love to see him work in West Grove one day.
