Happy Birthday!

Today is George, our retired pony’s birthday, he is 22 years old.  He retired a couple of years ago as he was really fed up with being a pony but is living a good retirement at Fenella O’Flynn’s Grattan Farm, just up the road from here. Another birthday was on February 25th and we forgot […]

Street Fashion

Having run most of his races on the grass before coming to us Street Fashion tried the dirt again yesterday at Santa Anita and found it to his liking, finishing a good second.  It was an exciting race but the reason for posting is that one our retirees ponied him to post!  Alakazan Alakazan retired […]

Phillip, catch us up on how Icabad Crane is doing at your winter base in South Carolina. “He just arrived here in Aiken. He spent a little more time in Pennsylvania with the idea being to bring him back a bit slower this year. He had such a whirlwind last year and I just wanted […]

Awaiting their return

After six weeks of an empty barn while it was being maintained, power washed, doors fixed and replaced, new chips, new straw barn etc., it’s now beginning to look like home again with the feed tubs and buckets ready for their return.  Can’t wait as it’s been pretty lonely.  Even the five barn cats have […]

Faufiler

Blue blooded Faufiler (by Galileo out of Breeders Cup winner Six Perfections) was ridden beautifully today by Edgar Prado to win the Sand Springs Stakes at Gulfstream Park.  She had an awful draw on the way outside but broke well so Edgar found himself in the middle of the track.  Edgar dropped her to the […]

Animal Instinct

By Leroidesanimeaux, Animal Kingdom’s sire, Animal Instinct ran third a month ago after a long layoff, since 2014.  He upped the score today to win at Gulfstream.  It was a lovely place to win as many of the West Point members, along with Terry Finley were able to be present and greet him into the […]

He’s Baaaack!!

We’re thrilled to have exercise rider Robbie Walsh back in the tack at Fair Hill! Robbie returned last week after an injury sustained at Far Hills in New Jersey on October 17. He’s shown above on Flexible Mandate, a 3-year-old More Than Ready colt. For more shots of Robbie and the home team here in […]

Ascend

After a couple very good seconds on the turf Ascend was given a refresher at his owners farm in Kentucky.    Today he came back and won decisively on the dirt at Gulfstream.  He left everyone toiling in his wake, reminiscent of his sire Candy Ride!  Congratulations to Stone Farm.

Street Fashion

A winner!!  Little bit over the top perhaps but with 12 seconds this year before today it’s seems a bit of a novelty!  That’s a lot of seconds.  We also had 4 more today which brings the tally to 16! Street Fashion was running for us for the first time and he appreciated the Tapeta […]
